I often get asked the same things about boudoir shoots, so here is a list of FAQ’s
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you feel great. We usually have a couple of outfit changes in a shoot so bring along a good selection of things. I see a boudoir shoot as an investment in yourself, so treat yourself. The following is a list of things you can’t go wrong with –
Killer heels – personally I can’t think of a boudoir shoot with out them.
Stockings – with a belt or hold ups – your choice. Natural, black, fishnet all good.
Matching lacy pants and bra – white, black, patterned or plain. Spoil yourself.
Basque or Corset – I can give you the websites of some great suppliers, tube corsets however are rarely flattering.
Sheer teddy – lovely option for people who are a little self conscious.
All in one body – lace is my current favourite.
Any props or jewellery – great to personalise your shoot.
The most flattering thing to wear is a smile, so relax. We will go through all this in your pre shoot consultation, and I will send you over lots of information when you book your shoot.
I don’t know how to pose.
That’s my job don’t worry about it. I will guide you and demonstrate the poses. You may ache after your shoot!
Will I have to be nude?
Absolutely not. You are in control at all times. We will have found out your likes and dislikes and what you want to get out of the shoot before we start.
I don’t like my bum.
Positive thoughts at all times please. OK so you don’t like your bum, do you love your boobs? Have a think which bits of your body you love and they are the ones we will focus on. I have had ladies who have just had shots of their legs or boobs. I will always pose and light the shoot to make the most of your best bits.
Will you Photoshop my photos?
My aim is to make you look your best not to look like someone else. I see re-touching your photos just like putting on make up – a little in the right place goes a long way.
What about my hair and makeup?
You can arrange this yourself or I can sort a hair and make up artist out for you. It costs a little extra but I feel a MSB shoot is an investment in yourself so well worth it.
Getting ready for your shoot – Do’s and Dont’s
Do – make your own moodboard. Take some time to look through magazines for images you like. Do you like colour or moody black and white? Are there any poses you would like to try? It’s good to come with a few ideas.
Do – spend a little time thinking about your wardrobe. I have given you some ideas, but be inventive to personalise your shoot. Treat yourself to something new then you have the outfits to keep forever.
Do – remember to get your beauty appointments booked. Manicure, pedicure, eyebrows, waxing, roots etc.
Do – moisturize your skin and lips for a few days before the shoot.
Do – drink plenty of water – hydration is important for great skin and eyes.
Do – try to get a good nights sleep.
Do – where a clear deodorant – white marks are never good.
Dont – get a new haircut the day before a shoot.
Dont – get a spray tan straight before the shoot.
Dont – wear anything that may leave marks – tight socks, bra straps skinny jeans etc.
Dont – eat anything to bloat you before the shoot. If you eat rubbish you will feel like rubbish.
Dont – get stressed. It’s just me and you and a camera, unless you want to bring a friend. No one else will see the images unless you want them too.
Just a couple of hours of pampering and dress up – and some beautiful images to keep for ever – whats not to love.
Oh and please take into consideration that the image quality you have seen on the website have had to be reduced in order to be used on a web page.
