The Studio Open Day

There are many things you don’t think of when you first open a studio.   Fire alarms, first aid boxes, the ‘right’ cups.  However one thing Jo and I did think of was an open day.  In fact I think we had started planning an open day before we found The Studio.  We knew we wanted, goody bags, cup cakes and lots of smiling faces – oh and Jo wanted bunting but don’t get me started on the one.

We decided on August Bank Holiday Monday for the big day.  We designed out posters – thank you Maise – and spent many hours making goody bags and printing out labels.  Cakes were made – thank you Louise  and Adele.   We had some fantastic vintage cups, saucers and plates – thank you Wendy.   And not forgetting out terrific, a little bit naughty, sweety shop – thank you Nikki.  Links to all our terrific chums are at the bottom of this page.

The big day arrived and the sun shone on us.  Oh boy did it shine – it was a scorching day.  Our lovely team assembled.  What would we have done with out you?   We opened the doors at 10 and I am glad to say we were busy until they shut again at 2.

I spoke to so many people and had some terrific feedback.  The refreshments went down well.  Jo was very busy with her mini shoots, in her handmade tent all day – she even tempted me in!  Everyone received a goody bag full of vouchers a MSB calender, and of course a cake.  There was also a prize draw for the chance to win some terrific goodies from Hair by Kate.

Goody bags – check, Cake – check lots of smiling faces – check.  So Jo, what are we going to do for our first birthday?
